Inception

As a girl, I've owned nail polish almost all of my life. However, my collection consisted of about 5 bottles until winter term in college, when all of my friends seemed to be into nail polish. In no time at all, I was hooked. I loved the various shades of colors, the complexity of shimmer and base color combos, everything. Over the last year, my collection grew slowly but steadily to almost 40 bottles today. I acquired brands I hadn't heard of before college -- Essie, OPI, China Glaze, Zoya. I bought top coat, base coat, and "basic" colors like black and white. Because everyone needs those, duh. In the summer, I did my nails every week without fail and even did my toes when I ran out of fingers. I even infected friends at home with the polish bug. Hell, I even moisturize my cuticles and file my nails; no way did I do any of that before.

Today marks the inception of my blogging experience. Obviously this won't be on the caliber of real pro bloggers, but it will serve as documentation of my nail color adventures.

To start off, here is my current mani. This is Zoya FeiFei, a gorgeous steel purplish blue with a bajillion shimmer particles thrown in (gold, green, blue, and pink are what stand out to me; there's probably more). Overall the shimmer comes off as...shiny. Maybe a bit green-gold.

Sometimes it looks almost duochrome-y

LOOK AT THAT SHIMMER

I got this as part of Zoya's "Color Your World" New Years' promotion, which is possibly the best deal on the planet for high quality polish. FeiFei was (is) super distracting, haha. I was so in awe that I took at least 20 pictures of this mani throughout the week. I also had midterms the past couple of days, and it did not help that I would just stare at my nails every few minutes instead of reading or reviewing stuff.
